January’s coolest restaurant openings
Chefs and restaurateurs across the country have already kicked off 2017 with restaurant openings. From Miami to Milwaukee, travelers have a new surf cantina, pizza place, taco shop and cafe to try. New York City has a new destination for Vietnamese, Chicago has one spot for toast and beer, and Austin, Texas has a new take on Japanese fare.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the new year,” says Sara Leveen, owner of New York City’s new Hanoi House. “We have a new family that is all working really hard to produce something special. Our guests are happy and loving chef’s food which is exactly what we’re here for! 2017 is awesome so far.”

More New York City restaurateurs chose January openings, including chef David Chang, who debuted another outpost of Momofuku.

“Our arrival in Las Vegas has been a long time coming, and we’re stoked to have landed at The Cosmopolitan,” Chang says in a statement. “I hope the restaurant will be a fun, celebratory spot where there’s something for everyone on the menu, whether you’re splurging or having a quiet dinner on a Tuesday.
